Women Empowerment

Various studies, as well as our experience, have shown that when we work towards women's empowerment, then the entire society is benefited. But unfortunately, in India, being empowered, most women are deprived of their basic rights such as health, education, employment and respectable status in society.

Swabhiman, which means self-respect in English, was started in 2016 to face these challenges through a simple yet effective approach. The purpose of the program is specifically aimed at achieving both individual and collective self-esteem for individual and collectively excluded and socially excluded women and adolescents through innovative community practices.

A tailor made strategy called 'AB 4S Model' has been developed for self empowerment for women empowerment. The '4S model' is an abbreviation for four novel approaches, i.e. Healthcare with a bacterial, support for education, supporters through mail evolution, and maintaining changes in communities.

The program identifies teenage girls and women from the community and develops them into change agents, which in turn actively contribute to the community mobilization process.

So far, Swabhiman has successfully changed the lives of more than 50,000 women and girls.
